When our team members go to schools, businesses, or community centers to teach others about financial literacy, we have a mission beyond just getting new accounts. It’s about making a difference in people’s lives by helping them become more financially literate. We help individuals better themselves by being more financially stable, regardless of their income level.
Senior Branch Sales Officer Diana Delaunay takes the time to teach others about financial literacy. She knows that the knowledge she provides impacts and empowers her community.

A few years ago, Diana met Karen, a hard-working waitress at a local hotspot Mexican restaurant, in one of her Financial Literacy Seminars. Karen was worried because she didn’t make much money and wasn’t sure how to save for the future. She thought that putting away money from her paychecks would be impossible.
Diana had a piece of advice for Karen: start small. Diana advised her to set $25 a month into a savings account automatically. Karen took Diana’s advice to heart and began saving.
Years passed, and Karen woke up to find her car on blocks with stolen tires and rims. She was upset and panicked when she got the bill for the repairs.
To her relief, she soon remembered that $25 she put away each month! Simply putting away $25 a month had become a nice little nest egg for her. She had just enough in the account to cover the costs of the tires and rims for her car.
Grateful for Diana’s advice, Karen visited the bank to say thank you. Diana’s suggestion made a difference in her life, enabling her to afford the necessary repairs.
This heartwarming story is a testament to the power of financial literacy and how it can positively impact someone’s life. A little advice can go a long way and change someone’s life for the better.
