June News

July 11, 2023

Our management team meets weekly to share information from the departments, divisions, and people that make up Texas Regional Bank. Below are a few of the highlights from our June meetings that you may find helpful:

Big Month For Banking Center Expansion

Chief Experience Officer Jason Leal shared that the groundbreaking for the Rio Grande City Banking Center was successful. With construction underway, Leal anticipates the branch opening in early 2024.

Further, Leal reported that the San Antonio banking center successfully opened on June 5 and that a grand opening event is scheduled for July 20.

Training Pays Off in Lending

Gaby Garza, Chief Credit Officer, said that First Pass Yield surpassed 60%. First pass yield is the percentage of loan files that are complete when they pass from the lending team to the credit team. It’s important because higher first pass yield results in fewer delays and a better customer experience. Going over 60% first pass yield is a milestone for the department and the impact of months of focus and training.

Loss Avoidance of $694,000

COO, Rene Avila reported that the fraud prevention team prevented $694,000 in losses for May! The success of preventing loss is bittersweet as it’s a reminder of the rampant fraud impacting our country. Stay focused.

Chief Banking Officer Cesar Suarez shared the content collaboration between bank divisions and marketing. The bank divisions generate content ideas, and marketing turns those ideas into articles.
