In the Valley Morning Star’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards, TRB’s Harlingen branches were once again voted Best Bank, and Michele Robinson was named Best Banker. This is the fifth consecutive year our Harlingen locations have earned Best Bank and the sixth year in a row Michele has received Best Banker.
TRB Wins Best Bank in Harlingen
This recognition reflects more than the strength of two branches on Stuart Place and 77 Sunshine Strip—it reflects the people inside them. Day in and day out, our Harlingen teams provide personalized solutions and exceptional service, setting a high bar for Team TRB across the Valley and beyond.
“We are grateful to the Harlingen community for honoring TRB as Best Bank for the fifth time, but more, for placing their trust in our exceptional Harlingen teams,” shared South Texas Region President Fred Garza. “As we continue to serve the Valley, we invite more of our neighbors to experience what it means to be part of the TRB family,” he added.

Michele Robinson Wins Again
This year also marks Michele’s 10th anniversary with TRB. A Harlingen High School graduate, Michele has spent nearly three decades building her banking career in the Rio Grande Valley, where she continues to live and raise her family.
Reflecting on her sixth Best Banker award, Michele said, “It’s a wonderful surprise each time I hear this news. Our goal is to ensure that before anyone brings us their needs, they already know the names and faces they’ll see when they walk through our doors. To know that the people we serve every day thought of me and took the time to vote—it’s humbling and deeply rewarding.”

The Valley Morning Star has hosted the Readers’ Choice Awards for more than 25 years, highlighting the best businesses and services in Brownsville, Harlingen, and McAllen. With more than 400,000 monthly visitors to the myRGV website, the contest brings together thousands of votes each year to celebrate community favorites across dozens of categories. Congratulations to Michele and to our Harlingen teams for continuing to set the pace for Team TRB.
