Being “The People You Know” in our communities takes many shapes, including participating in volunteer activities or serving on community boards. The underlying theme of our involvement is genuine care, dedication, and commitment to our communities.

JJ Gomez, Dallas Market President, is one outstanding TRB team member that has achieved being the “People You Know.”

Education played a pivotal role in shaping JJ’s life, thanks to the belief instilled by his mother. She often reminded him that education was the key to success. JJ, deeply influenced by his mother’s wisdom, established a self-funded scholarship, “Sarah Munguia Gomez Memorial Scholarship,” in 1998, providing opportunities for Raymondville High School graduates to pursue their dreams.

The Sarah Munuiga Gomez Memorial Scholarship has helped over 25 Raymondville High School seniors.

At the heart of JJ Gomez’s story is an understanding that no matter how high we climb the ladder of success, we must never forget the roots from which we grew. JJ passionately shared, “I’ve always been adamant about giving back to the town that raised me.” His words echoed with a sense of purpose.

Remember that we all have the power to change and uplift those around us. Each of us possesses the ability to be “The People You Know” in our communities. By embracing compassion, dedicating our time and resources, and cultivating a spirit of unity, we can create a brighter future for all.
