Intern Day 2025: Team TRB Kicks off Annual Summer Intern Program

June 16, 2025

We launched our 2025 Internship Program on June 11 with an informational Internship Day at corporate headquarters in Harlingen. Students from top universities across the nation— like Texas A&M, the University of Texas, University of Arkansas, and Indiana University — gathered to kick off their summer journey with us. The day was filled with dynamic presentations by our executive team giving career insights, and meaningful conversations that introduced interns to the heart of Team TRB’s mission and culture.

Internship Day marked a significant moment during the early weeks of this summer program. Directed by Michael Lamon, President of Banking Administration, and organized by Cody Gains, Talent Acquisitions Manager, the event brought together over 10 employees and executives from across our organization.

Interns also learned about our deep commitment to community, discovering how local engagement is central to Team TRB’s identity and impact. Through each interactive presentation, interns explored different areas of banking, asking questions about departments that piqued their interests. The Internship Day set the tone for a summer of learning, growth, and meaningful connections, laying the groundwork for prospective banking careers.

Out of approximately 100 applicants, 20 top college students were selected for our Internship Program. Each intern submitted their areas of interest and received a placement in a role that aligned with their goals and objectives. This summer, interns will be welcomed into our family, trusted with meaningful work, and supported as they grow personally and professionally.

“We believe that a thriving banking industry is essential to strong communities,” shared Lamon, commenting on the significance of the program. “That’s why we make a tremendous investment in our interns—because we’re committed to developing the next generation of banking professionals, whether they choose to build their careers with us or elsewhere in the industry.”

As the program continues to prepare students for their future careers, we hope it strengthens their connections between classroom learning and practical application and prepares the next generation of financial leaders for successful careers throughout our industry.
